abroad

Included here are images from my various wanderings. I savor the strangenss of travel.  While passing through, you see things differently than when observing your familiar world.  At first using b&w film and then digital color I texplored with my camera. In Paris, I followed in the footsteps of Eugene Atget looking for layers of history. Other journeys took me to Havana and Tuscany and the steep, narrow streets of Old San Juan.  I carried my camera to the top of Machu Picchu, finding a perfect moment after sudden rain. In 2023, hoping to experience the Arctic world before it diasppears, I boarded a coastal cruiser traveling up the coast of Norway to the northernmost point in continental Europe.
